Swamp Volley got started in 2002 as Mr Risto Tarkiainen – creator of swamp volley –
visited Swamp Soccer World Championships in Hyrynsalmi, Finland.
First test games were played in Haukivuori in summer 2003. The first National (Finnish) Championships were
in summer 2004 and a year after that it was time to compete for medals in European Championships.
First Swamp Volley World Championships in Rajasuo, Haukivuori 29 th and 30 th of July 2006.
